Hit

I very quickly made this comic about something that happened a few nights ago. For the first time ever I got to see and hear a dog get hit by a car. My mom was in the car and she didn’t see but had heard me ask “Is that a dog?” before hearing the thud.

I could barely see it. All I got was the outline caused by the car coming the other way. How could I see this dog in the dark when a car with the lights on it hit it while going 50MPH in a 30MPH SCHOOL ZONE. It may have been night but it wasn’t late. It may be summer but it’s an area with kids around that are probably enjoying later curfews.

I have so much to complain about. And I want to scream and shout because I’m still hurting over a dog I saw for two seconds. I don’t know what color it was. I don’t know if it was a stray or lost. I don’t know if the driver saw it last second with no time to even slow down. I don’t know. And it’s because of this that I wanted to vent out my feelings in more than a normal text post. I needed something more.

Please watch the road when you’re driving. Take care of yourself and others. I don’t even trust drivers to see me when I’m on the road…
